Nepal suffered a 30-run defeat against Pakistan ‘A’ in the opening match of the DP World Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026, currently underway in Bangkok, Thailand.
Chasing a target of 138 runs, Nepal managed 107 for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
For Nepal, opener Bindu Rawal top-scored with 39 runs off 45 balls, hitting eight fours. In the lower order, Sita Rana Magar remained unbeaten on 19, while Kabita Kunwar added an unbeaten 18, but their efforts were not enough to secure victory. Captain Puja Mahato contributed 11 runs, while the remaining batters failed to reach double figures.
For Pakistan ‘A’, Anosha Nasir delivered an impressive bowling performance, claiming three wickets for 20 runs in her four overs.
Earlier, after being put in to bat, Pakistan ‘A’ posted 137 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Captain Hafsa Khalid remained unbeaten on 40, while Waheeda Akhtar scored a quick 23 off 15 balls.
For Nepal, Kabita Kunwar bowled effectively, taking two wickets for just 10 runs in two overs. Manisha Upadhyay, Riya Sharma, Sita Rana Magar, and Rubina Chhetri claimed one wicket each.
