The head coach of the Nepal national men’s football team, Matt Russ, has resigned from his position, according to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
Russ, an Australian coach, had signed a one-year contract with ANFA last Falgun, but he stepped down after just eight months, confirmed ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai. The reason behind his resignation will be announced later, Rai said.
Under Russ’s leadership, the Nepali team played seven international matches, securing one win, two draws, and four losses. Nepal’s only victory during his tenure came against Singapore, which was also his debut match as head coach.
