The Nepal National Women’s Football Team has departed for India today to participate in an international women’s football tournament.
The tournament will be held in Shillong, India, where Nepal will compete against the host nation India and Iran. After the tournament concludes, Nepal is also scheduled to play a friendly match against India.
In the tri-nation tournament, Nepal will play its first match against Iran on Kartik 7. Similarly, Nepal will play the second match against India on Kartik 10. After both matches, the Nepali team will play a friendly match against India on Kartik 13.
Players Preeti Rai, Sabitra Bhandari (Samba), Pooja Rai, and Anjila Tumbapo Subba, who were playing professional football abroad, have returned to Nepal for this competition.
