The Nepal Red Cross Society has launched a one-month membership distribution campaign.
According to a public notice issued by the society, the campaign, which began on Falgun 25, will continue until Chaitra 24. The initiative aims to encourage wider public participation, including ensuring youth involvement and at least 33 percent female representation.
The notice states that while Red Cross membership is open year-round, this special campaign is being conducted in line with the provisions of its statute (with the 18th amendment, 2082) and a decision made by the Central Ad-hoc Committee on Falgun 24.
Interested Nepali citizens can obtain membership by following the procedures outlined in the statute and paying the required fee. Membership is available at multiple levels, including local municipal sub-branches, district branches, provincial offices, and the central office.
For further information, individuals can contact the chairpersons or secretaries of local sub-branches, district-level officials, provincial office representatives, or the central office’s General Secretary. The society has also provided a toll-free hotline number 1130 and advised people to visit its official website for additional details.
The campaign emphasizes embracing the principles, values, and humanitarian ideals of the Red Cross movement while expanding its membership base across the country.
