After suffering two consecutive defeats in earlier matches, Nepal secured its first win in the CAVA Cup Men’s Volleyball Championship.
In the third match held on Friday at the indoor hall in Dhaka, Nepal defeated the Maldives in straight sets. Facing one of the weaker teams in the tournament, Nepal won the first set 25–21. The second set was more competitive, but Nepal claimed it 25–23.
Nepal had an easier time in the final set, comfortably winning 25–18 to seal the match.
In the first match, Nepal had lost 3–0 in straight sets to Turkmenistan. The team also suffered a narrow 3–2 defeat against hosts Bangladesh in a thrilling second match. With today’s victory, Nepal has now earned a total of four points in the tournament.
