Kathmandu — Nepal is set to play a friendly football match against Bangladesh today at the National Stadium in Dhaka. The match will kick off at 7:45 PM (Nepali time).
The friendly match is being played as part of Nepal’s preparation for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. Nepal is scheduled to play against Malaysia on November 18 in the qualifier fixture.
So far, Nepal and Bangladesh have faced each other 25 times in international matches. Out of those, Nepal has won 8 matches, Bangladesh has won 13, and 4 matches have ended in draws.
Nepal’s head coach Hari Khadka has announced a 23-member squad for both the friendly match and the Asian Cup qualifier.
The Nepali squad includes:
Goalkeepers: Kiran Kumar Limbu, Deep Karki, Bishal Sunar
Defenders: Arik Bishwakarma, Mani Kumar Lama, Kushal Deuba, Ananta Tamang
Midfielders: Rohit Chand, Suman Shrestha, Sanish Shrestha, Abhishek Limbu, Sumit Shrestha, Yogesh Gurung, Lekhan Limbu
Forwards: Manish Dangi, Rohan Karki, Dipesh Gurung, Gillespie Jung Karki, Anjan Bista, Ayush Ghalan
Nepal will look to fine-tune its strategy and build momentum ahead of the crucial qualifier match against Malaysia.
