
In the ongoing Top End T20 Series in Australia, Nepal will play its third match today against Melbourne Stars, a Big Bash League team. The game will begin at 7:15 AM Nepal time.
Nepal previously suffered defeats against Bangladesh A and NT Strike, while Melbourne Stars have registered one win and one loss in their two matches so far.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has sent a 15-member squad to Australia under the captaincy of Rohit Paudel for the series. The squad includes Rohit Paudel (captain), Dipendra Singh Airee (vice-captain), Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Gulshan Jha, Arif Sheikh, Bhim Sharki, Rupesh Kumar Singh, Sompal Kami, Nandan Kumar Yadav, Karan KC, Rijan Dhakal, Lokesh Bam, and Shahab Alam. Shahab Alam replaced Lalit Rajbanshi, who could not travel due to the passing of his mother.
The tournament, organized by Northern Territory Cricket Australia, is being held in Darwin from August 14 to 24. Alongside Nepal, Pakistan A and Bangladesh A are competing, along with Chicago Kingsmen, Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers, Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, ACT Comets, and NT Strike.
According to the schedule, Nepal will play Hobart Hurricanes on August 19, Melbourne Renegades on August 20, and Pakistan A on August 22.
The top four teams will qualify for the semifinals. Since its inception in 2022, this tournament has been held three times. It began with five teams in 2022, while this year a total of 11 teams are participating.
