Nepal will take on the Netherlands today in their second match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier, currently underway in Kathmandu. The Group ‘B’ match will begin at 9:00 am at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Nepal suffered a defeat against Thailand in their opening match. The Netherlands, on the other hand, have made a strong start to the tournament with victories over Zimbabwe and Scotland.
In the ICC Women’s T20 International rankings, the Netherlands are placed 14th, while Nepal are ranked 21st. Nepal and the Netherlands have faced each other three times in T20Is so far, with Nepal losing all three encounters.
Nepal are under pressure to win at least two of their remaining three group matches to advance to the next round. The Netherlands, meanwhile, can significantly strengthen their chances of progressing with one more win.
The Nepali squad includes Indu Barma, Pooja Mahato, Samjhana Khadka, Bindu Rawal, Rubina Chhetri, Kabita Kunwar, Riya Sharma, Somu Bisht, Sita Rana Magar, Kajal Shrestha, Kabita Joshi, Roma Thapa, Manisha Upadhayay, Rachana Chaudhary, and Rajmati Airee.
