Nepal’s women’s cricket team will face Test nation Ireland today in their first warm-up match ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier. The match will start at 9:00 am at the Lower Mulpani Cricket Ground, marking Nepal’s first-ever encounter against Ireland.
Although the match will not carry official status, it is considered an important opportunity for Nepal to prepare ahead of the World Cup qualifier.
Before the qualifier begins on January 18, all 10 participating teams will play two warm-up matches each. Other matches scheduled for today include Bangladesh vs the Netherlands and Zimbabwe vs Papua New Guinea, to be played at the TU Cricket Ground and Upper Mulpani Cricket Ground.
Nepal will play their second warm-up match against the United States on Friday at the TU Cricket Ground.
In the qualifier, Group A consists of Bangladesh, Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Namibia, and the United States, while Group B includes Scotland, Thailand, Zimbabwe, the Netherlands, and host nation Nepal.
