
Nepal will play its first-ever T20 International match against Test nation and two-time World Cup winner West Indies today in the Unity Cup International T20 series. The historic clash will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Nepal will play its second match on Ashwin 13 (September 29) and the third on Ashwin 14 (September 30). After this series, the Nepali team will travel to Oman to participate in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific Qualifier. The series against West Indies serves as crucial preparation for that tournament.
The Nepal squad, led by captain Rohit Paudel, includes vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami, Kushal Bhurtel, Lokesh Bam, Kushal Malla, and Aasif Sheikh. Other players are Adil Alam, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Jora, Arif Sheikh, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Gulshan Jha, and Sahab Alam.
The West Indies team, captained by Akeal Hosein, features Fabian Allen, Jeavor Andrew, Akeem Auguste, Navin Bidaisee, Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Karima Gore, and Jason Holder. Other members include Amir Jangoo, Kyle Mayers, Obed McCoy, Jisan Motara, Ramon Simmonds, and Shamar Springer.
