The Nepali Army has rescued more than 1,500 people, including over 200 foreign tourists, who were stranded in various parts of Manang due to recent heavy snowfall.
Continuous snowfall since Kartik 10 had stranded hundreds of tourists and locals in areas such as Tilicho, Khangsar, Pisang, Upper Manang, and Humde.
According to the Nepali Army, the rescue team deployed from the Bhairav Dal Gulm carried out the operation in coordination with the local administration, people’s representatives, Armed Police Force Nepal, Nepal Police, and local residents, safely relocating all stranded individuals to safer locations.
The Army also stated that it has been continuously providing necessary medical assistance and facilitating transportation. Rescue operations are still ongoing in some high-altitude areas following the snowfall.
