The meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Nepali Congress is being held today. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 1 PM at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
The meeting has been called to finalize the names of members of the House of Representatives under the proportional representation system based on the number of seats secured by the party in the recently concluded election.
In the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, the Nepali Congress won 18 seats under the first-past-the-post system and 20 seats under the proportional representation system.
During the meeting, discussions and decisions will be made to select the final names of lawmakers from among the candidates listed in the closed proportional list previously submitted to the Election Commission Nepal before the election, according to the number of seats obtained by the party.
Acting Chief Secretary of the party’s central office, Krishna Prasad Dulal, issued a statement requesting all office bearers and members of the Central Executive Committee to attend the meeting at the scheduled time.
