The Central Working Committee meeting of the Nepali Congress, which has been taking place at the party’s central office in Sanepa, Lalitpur for the past four days, is continuing today as well.
According to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel, today’s meeting began at 11:00 AM (Friday), where the remaining central members are scheduled to present their views on current political issues.
During Thursday’s session, Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka addressed the meeting regarding the latest political developments, while General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa presented several proposals for discussion.
Yesterday, central members including Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Devendra Raj Kandel, Shiv Prasad Humagain, Rajiv Koirala, Guru Baral, and Nrip Bahadur Wad, among others, shared their opinions.
The meeting also condemned the recent violent attack on Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba during the GenZ Movement protests.
Most members emphasized the need for clarity regarding the upcoming General Convention, urging the leadership to make timely decisions.
Central committee members also raised concerns that the government is not moving toward ensuring free and fair elections, but rather seems to be acting out of political revenge. They expressed that ordinary citizens do not feel fully secure, and the morale of security agencies remains low, calling for immediate action to restore public confidence and stability.
