The group that elected new leadership through the Nepali Congress special convention is set to visit the Election Commission today to update party records.
After holding the first meeting of the newly elected executive committee, the Gagan–Bishwo faction is preparing to approach the Election Commission with the meeting’s decisions.
Advocate Raju Katwal stated that since the Nepali Congress conducted a special convention and selected new leadership, preparations are underway to visit the Commission to update official records. He said the team will go to the Election Commission between 12 noon and 1 pm on Thursday.
Katwal, along with his team, has been facilitating the documentation and record-keeping of papers related to the Nepali Congress special convention.
The special convention, which concluded on Wednesday, declared Gagan Thapa as party president. Meanwhile, the establishment faction has taken disciplinary action against Gagan Thapa, Bishwo Prakash Sharma, and other leaders, suspending them for five years.
