
Nepali Congress leader Radha Devi Karn has passed away. She was the eldest daughter of the late Mahendra Narayan Nidhi, former General Secretary of the Nepali Congress. Karn passed away on Ashoj 24 at the age of 81.
Issuing a condolence statement today, Krishna Prasad Poudel, Chief Secretary of the Nepali Congress Central Office, expressed deep sorrow over her demise.
During the 1990 People’s Movement (Jana Andolan of 2046 BS), Karn actively participated in the movement while her father, Mahendra Narayan Nidhi, was imprisoned in Jaleshwar and her younger brother, former party Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi, was underground.
The party stated that with her passing, the Nepali Congress has lost a courageous, experienced, and respected figure.
Expressing his condolences, Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba paid heartfelt tribute to the late Karn and extended his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family, wishing eternal peace to the departed soul.
