The Nepali Congress has formally initiated preparations for its 15th General Convention starting today. According to the decision of the Central Working Committee, the party will begin convention-focused programs from Saturday.
During a meeting held on 10–11 Chaitra after the House of Representatives election, the party finalized the schedule to conduct the convention from 16–19 Ashoj. Following this schedule, membership forms will be dispatched from the central office to ward levels starting 21 Chaitra until the end of the month, and representatives will be deployed across all 165 electoral constituencies.
Acting General Secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal stated that an orientation program for the representatives assigned to distribute active memberships is scheduled today at 2 PM at the central office in Sanepa. The names of the representatives will be released through an official press statement today.
The Congress will carry out a nationwide campaign from 1 Baisakh until the end of the month to distribute and update active memberships at ward levels. After this month-long campaign, wards must send membership lists to their respective electoral constituencies and districts by 15 Jestha. Constituency and district offices will then enter the membership details and forward them to the central office by 25 Jestha.
The central office will conduct the necessary verification and finalize the membership list by 15 Asar. By the end of Asar, the Congress plans to submit the updated list of active members to the Central Election Committee.
