Nepali Congress has opened its account in the House of Representatives election from Mustang. The party’s candidate Yogesh Gauchan secured victory by defeating CPN-UML candidate Indra Dhara Bista.
Gauchan had also won in the previous House of Representatives election. The son of Nepali Congress Mustang President Romi Gauchan Thakali, he won the election by a margin of 1,501 votes.
Gauchan received 3,307 votes, while his closest rival Bista secured 1,806 votes. Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Advitiya Chandra Thakali received 759 votes, while other parties remained far behind.
Gauchan had also won the 2022 election from Mustang. In that election, he secured 3,996 votes, defeating CPN-UML candidate Prem Prasad Tulachan, who received 3,078 votes.
Yogesh Gauchan is a resident of Lete in Thasang Rural Municipality. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is also involved in tourism and hotel businesses.
