The Nepali Congress has decided to remove the names of 19 individuals from its proportional representation list under the provincial assemblies.
The decision was made during a meeting of the party’s Central Executive Committee held on Wednesday. Party spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said the committee approved a proposal involving candidates who were listed under the closed list for the provincial assemblies but wished to move to the federal proportional representation list instead.
“The list of 19 individuals who wanted their names removed from the provincial assembly closed list and transferred to the federal proportional list was read out in the meeting and approved,” Mahat said, adding that the Election Commission will be formally informed about the decision.
