On the occasion of Constitution Day, the Nepal Communist Party (UML) organized a special program at the party’s central office in Chyasal. The event, which began on Friday morning, was chaired by party Vice-Chairperson Ashtalakshmi Shakya.
Speaking at the program, Vice-Chairperson Shakya urged party workers not to lose hope amid the current situation. She said, “Grief must be transformed into strength. There is no need to be disheartened; we have the Constitution.”
Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli, who resigned from the Prime Minister’s post following the recent Janjagaran (JENJI) protests, was not present at the program. Oli, who has been under heavy military security for a long time, appeared in public only on Thursday. Despite various comments regarding his absence, the party marked Constitution Day with special significance.
The program saw significant participation from other senior leaders and party workers, who exchanged greetings on the occasion and emphasized the protection and implementation of the Constitution. The event is expected to further clarify UML’s internal unity and future direction.
