
Despite a market decline, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) witnessed a total trading volume of NPR 4.12 billion on Wednesday, with around 9.4 million shares changing hands.
The Nepse index dropped by 27.89 points to close at 2,654.35 points. According to Nepal Stock Exchange, prices of 53 stocks rose, while 193 declined, and 5 remained unchanged.
Investors in Upper Mailung Khola and City Hotel gained the most, as both stocks hit the positive circuit limit, earning investors NPR 61 and NPR 59 per share, respectively.
Similarly, investors in Himstar Energy Company, Citizen Mutual Fund 2, and Vision Lumbini Energy Company also booked profits.
However, investors in Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta, Rapti Hydro & General Construction, and a few others suffered losses of up to 5.38%.
Union Hydropower recorded the highest turnover of the day at NPR 220 million, followed by Nepal Reinsurance Company at NPR 170 million and Himalayan Reinsurance at NPR 130 million.
