The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 28.92 points this week, closing at 2,642.15. The index had closed at 2,671.07 points last week.
The market remained open for only two trading days this week, and the index fell on both days.
On average, shares worth Rs 8.15 billion were traded during the week. Transactions worth Rs 7.94 billion were recorded on Monday, while Rs 8.36 billion worth of shares were traded on Tuesday.
On the first trading day of the week, the NEPSE index dropped by 8.16 points to settle at 2,662.91. On that day, shares of 335 companies were traded, with 19.616 million units exchanged, generating a turnover exceeding Rs 7.94 billion.
On the second trading day, the index fell further by 20.75 points to close at 2,642.15. Shares of 354 companies were traded, with 20.559 million units exchanged, resulting in a turnover exceeding Rs 8.36 billion.
