
The NEPSE index has hit its third consecutive negative circuit. Following the third circuit break, share trading was suspended for the day.
At 12:06 PM, the index dropped 6%, triggering a circuit break and falling to 2,511 points — a decline of 160 points. During this period, 1.7 million shares worth NPR 720 million were traded.
This sharp fall occurred on Thursday, the first trading day since the change in government after the Gen-Z movement.
Earlier, just two minutes after the market opened, NEPSE dropped by 4%, leading to the first circuit break and a 20-minute trading halt.
When trading resumed at 11:22 AM, the market again plunged 5% within a minute, triggering the second circuit break and another suspension.
