
Kathmandu – On Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) Index closed lower, reversing Monday’s gains.
The Nepse Index fell by 19.89 points, ending at 2,741.47, while the Sensitive Index decreased by 2.69 points. The Float Index dropped by 1.23 points, and the Sensitive Float Index fell by 0.98 points.
Trading volume also declined, with 323 stocks traded 89,775 times, amounting to Rs. 443.82 million for 10.5 million shares, compared to Monday’s turnover of Rs. 510 million.
Him Star Energy Company shares traded at the positive circuit level, rising by Rs. 26.70 to close at Rs. 294.20. Other stocks that gained rose less than 4.5%, while Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta shares fell the most, declining by 7.47%.
Based on turnover, Nepal Reinsurance Company led the market with shares worth Rs. 227 million traded. Himalayan Reinsurance recorded over Rs. 200 million in transactions, and Union Hydropower crossed Rs. 145 million.
All 13 sectoral sub-indices fell today, with the Trade sub-index experiencing the largest decline of 1.97%, while other sub-indices fell by less than 1%.
