The share market, which had risen yesterday, declined today. The benchmark NEPSE index dropped by 12.83 points to settle at 2,620.92 points.
Except for the Others group, shares of all sectors declined today, with the Trading group falling by more than 1 percent. Of the traded companies, 189 saw their share prices decline, 63 gained, while 8 companies remained unchanged.
Among individual stocks, Global IME Samunnat Yojana–2 recorded the highest loss of the day, falling by 10 percent. Despite the overall market decline, shares of Bin Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha surged by 10 percent.
Along with the index, trading volume also decreased. While yesterday’s turnover stood at Rs 5.13 billion, today 10.1 million shares of 336 companies were traded, amounting to a total transaction value of Rs 4.71 billion.
