On the first trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by double digits. The NEPSE index rose by 39.92 points to reach 2,600.22 points.
A total of 334 companies saw 13,381,926 shares traded across 76,028 transactions, amounting to NPR 5.286 billion in turnover. All sub-indices, except for collective investment schemes, showed gains.
Shares of Sagar Distillery Limited, Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism Limited, and Jhapa Energy Limited hit positive circuit limits. Among the biggest losers, Peoples Hydropower Company Limited’s shares fell by 7.56 percent.
Based on turnover, NRN Infrastructure recorded the highest trading volume of NPR 656.09 million, while Peoples Hydropower Company Limited led in the number of shares traded, with 1,186,778 shares exchanged.
