The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose significantly on Thursday, the final trading day of the week, gaining 30.75 points to close at 2,631.14 points.
The total market turnover stood at Rs 9.10 billion, marking an increase of nearly Rs 1.5 billion compared to the previous Thursday’s Rs 7.51 billion turnover.
A total of 198 companies saw their share prices rise, 50 companies declined, and 2 remained unchanged.
Except for the trading sector, all other sub-indices posted gains. The finance sector increased by 5.17%, while the life insurance sector rose by 4.35%.
Five companies hit the positive circuit breaker (10% upper limit), including:
- Samudayik Laghubitta
- Gorkhas Finance
- Sanchakanya Mai Hydropower
- Peoples Power
- Tehrathum Power
Additionally, Guheshwori Merchant Banking and Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta also hit their circuit levels.
The biggest loser of the day was Khanikhola Hydropower, dropping 4.76%.
In terms of trading volume, Himalayan Bank’s promoter shares led the market with transactions worth Rs 1.66 billion, followed by Union Hydropower at Rs 340 million and Butwal Power Company at Rs 250 million.
