The stock market recorded a marginal decline on the first trading day of the week. The NEPSE index fell by 4.18 points to settle at 2,833.60.
Despite the slight drop in the index, trading activity remained strong. More than 20 million shares were traded, generating a total turnover of Rs 8.66 billion.
According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the prices of 105 companies increased, while 153 declined and 12 remained unchanged during the session.
Shares of Super Khudi Hydro, Suryakund Hydroelectric Limited, Hotel Forest Inn, and Palpa Cement Industries hit the positive circuit. Investors in these companies earned gains of Rs 103.50, Rs 81, Rs 74.90, and Rs 33 per share respectively.
The overall rate of decline was minimal, with share prices falling by a maximum of only 3.60 percent. Companies such as Unique Nepal Laghubitta, Abhiyan Laghubitta, and Sanvi Energy were among those that recorded the highest declines.
