The stock market declined marginally on the second trading day of the week. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the benchmark NEPSE index fell by 3.07 points on Monday to settle at 2,769.09 points.
Out of the 13 sub-indices traded on the day, share prices of four sub-groups increased, while nine sub-groups recorded declines.
Himalayan Power Partner recorded the highest trading turnover on Monday, with shares worth more than NPR 659.33 million exchanged.
Investors in SY Panel, Himstar Energy, Sanvi Energy, Saptakoshi Development Bank, and Mountain Hydro earned the highest gains. Shares of all these companies surged by 10 percent, hitting the positive circuit.
On the other hand, investors of National Hydropower suffered the biggest loss, as the company’s share price declined by 3.12 points.
According to NEPSE, a total of 36,264,873 shares of 332 companies were traded during the day, with a total transaction value exceeding NPR 16.35 billion.
