Kathmandu — The NEPSE Index rose by 48 points on Thursday, closing at 2,851 amid increased investor activity.
Along with the market rise, daily turnover also saw a notable jump. Total trading volume reached around Rs 9.91 billion, up from Rs 8.31 billion recorded the previous day.
Out of the traded companies, share prices of 251 companies increased, while 16 declined and one remained unchanged.
Based on transaction value, top-traded companies included National Hydropower Company, Ridi Power Company, Himalayan Reinsurance, NRN Infrastructure and Development, and SY Panel Nepal.
Several companies posted strong gains of around 10 percent, including Reliance Spinning Mills, Atmanirbhar Laghubitta, Bhujung Hydropower, Rizline Energy, Solu Hydropower, Hotel Forest Inn, Super Khudi Hydropower, Suryakund Hydroelectric, and Himstar Urja.
All sector indices closed in the green. The “Others” group recorded the highest gain of 3.43 percent, followed by hydropower (2.70%), manufacturing and processing (2.58%), hotel and tourism (2.39%), finance (1.47%), banking (1.24%), microfinance (1.20%), investment (1.00%), non-life insurance (1.00%), life insurance (0.99%), development banks (0.78%), and trading (0.62%).
