Newly elected independent Member of Parliament Mahabir Pun has stated that reforming the education sector will be his top priority during his parliamentary tenure.
Speaking to the media upon arriving at Singha Durbar for the oath-taking ceremony, Pun said that ending political interference in education is his main agenda.
“There are countless things that need to be done—it’s hard to list them all,” he said. “But especially, removing the politicization in the education sector will be my primary goal.”
He also mentioned that he has always been someone who faces whatever life brings and does not back down from challenges.
Pun added that it is too early to predict his future role or how he will move forward.
“No one knows what the future holds—perhaps only God does,” he said. “So there is no point in making big claims right now about what I will or won’t do.”
