Dr. Surya Prasad Dhungel, a member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), has resigned from his post. He submitted his resignation through the NHRC Chairperson, effective from September 14 (Bhadra 29).
In his statement, Dhungel said he stepped down to contribute more effectively from outside the commission in supporting democracy, human rights, and peace restoration, welcoming the new path chosen by the nation to overcome the ongoing crisis.
According to Presidential Office spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Koirala, his resignation has been accepted.
