Non-Resident Nepali Day (NRN Day) is being celebrated across Nepal today with various programs and events.
The Government of Nepal officially declared October 11 as Non-Resident Nepali Day, and since then, the day has been observed every year to honor the contribution of Nepalis living abroad. The celebration began after the first Global NRN Conference held in Kathmandu in 2003.
The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) — the umbrella organization of Nepalis living abroad — is organizing formal events to mark the occasion. The association represents Nepali citizens and people of Nepali origin living in countries outside the SAARC region and serves as an international network connecting the global Nepali diaspora.
According to the latest data, the NRNA has over 68,000 registered members and operates through 56 National Coordination Councils (NCCs) across the world.
