The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), which was recently unified after a split between two groups, has officially announced the date and venue of its 12th International General Convention. The convention, to be held in Kathmandu, has been described as a convention of unity.
According to the association, the second meeting of the Steering Committee formed after unification, held on Sunday, decided to organize the general convention on Falgun 11, 12, and 13 (February 23, 24, and 25, 2026). The decision was taken while accelerating preparations for the convention.
In addition to finalizing the dates, the meeting also made several important decisions related to organizational unity and internal management. As per a press statement issued by joint general secretaries Gauriraj Joshi and B.R. Lama, a five-member “NCC Unity Facilitation Committee” has been formed under the coordination of Gangadhar Gautam to bring unity among the National Coordination Committees (NCCs). Tika Gurung (Radhika) has been appointed as co-coordinator, while Narayan Kafle, Shani Oli, and Chiranjivi Khadka are members of the committee.
To convey a strong message of unity to Nepalis around the world, the association has also announced a schedule of regional-level interaction and dialogue programs. These programs will be held on December 19 for the Middle East and Africa region, December 20 for the Asia-Pacific and Oceania region, and December 21 for the Americas and Europe region.
The meeting further decided to expand the membership-related committee from five to seven members. It also made it mandatory for all Steering Committee members to sign a commitment letter before the next meeting to ensure strict discipline. Members who fail to sign within the stipulated time will not be allowed to participate in the next meeting.
The NRNA has appealed to non-resident Nepali communities worldwide, National Coordination Councils, and all concerned stakeholders to extend their support in making the 12th International General Convention historic and successful.
