A road accident in Tharpubazar, Magde Rural Municipality–4, Tanahun, resulted in one death and left another person seriously injured. The incident occurred on the Prithvi Raj Highway when two scooters collided.
According to police, around 11 PM on Tuesday, a scooter bearing number G 21 P 3036, traveling from Pokhara to Damauli, collided with another scooter, G 23 P 8007, coming from the opposite direction. After the collision, a person riding a VR motorcycle struck the injured victims.
The deceased, 32-year-old Bijay Thapa Chhetri from Magde–7, Tanahun, was brought to Damauli Hospital but was declared dead at 11:42 PM by doctors, said Ashok Thapa, Public Information Officer at Tanahun District Police Office.
The other injured, 19-year-old Prabin Chhetri from Pokhara Metropolitan City–17, received initial treatment and was later referred to Gandaki Medical College (GMC) in Pokhara for further care.
Following the accident, police have taken 20-year-old Sahanish Thapa from Pokhara Metropolitan City–21, the VR motorcycle rider involved in hitting the injured, into custody.
