A clash between inmates at Kailali District Prison has left one person dead. The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Bharat Chaudhary of Dhangadhi–4.
According to Kailali Police, the incident occurred on Friday night, injuring 47 inmates. They are currently receiving treatment at Seti Provincial Hospital, where the condition of three is reported to be critical.
Police said Chaudhary had been in custody on drug-related charges. The clash reportedly took place between inmates in Blocks A and B of the prison. Security has been tightened, with police deployed at the hospital.
