One person has died in a car accident in Bhumi, Nawalparasi.
The accident occurred when a car (Bagmati Province 23 Cha 5075), traveling east from Butwal, veered off a bridge at Badera, Bhumi, and fell into a river. Maniram Poudel of Dhatiwang, Arghakhanchi, who was critically injured in the crash, died while undergoing treatment.
According to the Area Police Office, Sunwal (Nawalparasi), the accident took place around 1 PM on Monday. The seriously injured Maniram was rescued and rushed to Prithvi Chandra Hospital, Parasi, for treatment.
The car’s driver, Harishchandra Poudel, sustained minor injuries. The deceased, Maniram, was Harishchandra’s father. Police said the father and son were traveling from Arghakhanchi to Kathmandu when the accident occurred.
Inspector Laxman Devkota of the Sunwal Area Police Office said that based on the condition of the accident site, the car might have fallen off the bridge into the river due to overspeeding and losing control.
