Dang — One person was killed and another injured after a tip truck collided with a motorcycle in Dang on Sunday morning.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dabal Bahadur Bam, chief of the Gadhwa Area Police Office, 19-year-old Sushil Thapa of Airawati Rural Municipality-5, Pyuthan, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle, died while undergoing treatment at Bhaluwang Hospital.
The motorcycle rider, 22-year-old Prachanda Thapa of the same locality, sustained injuries. After receiving initial treatment at Bhaluwang Hospital, he was referred to Butwal for further treatment.
The accident occurred near Dhodre Bridge in Gadhwa Rural Municipality-1 when a tip truck (Na 8 Kha 8259), traveling west from Chandrapur, collided head-on with a motorcycle (Lu 39 Pa 8390) heading toward Chandrapur from Pyuthan.
Police said the deceased’s body has been sent to Lamahi Hospital for post-mortem, while the truck and its driver are in police custody. An investigation into the incident is underway.
