Kathmandu – The political movement “Pahila Desh (Pills Revolution)” has announced a nationwide “Maha Sankalp Yatra” from Pathibhara in the east to Limpiyadhura in the west beginning on Mangsir 5 (November 20) and continuing until Poush 10 (December 25).
During a press conference held in Kathmandu on Thursday, the group also demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki and the dismissal of her government.
SP Shah, the coordinator of Pahila Desh, accused the current government of undermining the sacrifices made by Jenji (a symbolic youth martyr) and following the old corrupt political path. He said their campaign aims to remove the government and lead the nation toward a new political direction.
Similarly, the group’s spokesperson Dr. Nicholas Bhusal said that instead of arresting those who ordered the shooting of young protesters during Jenji’s time, the government was unjustly targeting peaceful activists. He further stated that Prime Minister Karki must resign for failing to bring reform and continuing corruption and misgovernance.
Another secretariat member, Dharanidhar Dahal, remarked that Sushila Karki only came to hang her photo in Singha Durbar and warned that if direct executive leadership elections are not ensured, they will not allow the elections scheduled for Falgun 21 to take place.
