Pakistan clinched the three-match T20 International series 2–1 against South Africa after a thrilling victory in the deciding match at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Saturday night.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Pakistan’s bowlers delivered an impressive performance, restricting South Africa to 139 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Reeza Hendricks top-scored for South Africa with 34 runs.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi was the standout performer, taking 3 wickets for 26 runs in his four overs. Usman Tariq and Faheem Ashraf also contributed with two wickets each.
Chasing a target of 140 runs, Pakistan reached the total in 19 overs, losing six wickets. Captain Babar Azam led from the front with a brilliant 68 runs off 47 balls, guiding his team to victory.
Despite Corbin Bosch and Lizaad Williams taking two wickets each for South Africa, they couldn’t prevent Pakistan from sealing the win and the series.
