
In the Asia Cup Super Four match last night, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by five wickets. After winning the toss and choosing to field, Pakistan successfully chased the target of 134 runs in 18 overs, losing five wickets.
Sri Lanka, batting first, scored 133 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Kamilindu Mendis scored a quick half-century, making 50 runs off 44 balls, while other batsmen failed to contribute significantly. Pakistan’s bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets.
During the chase, Sahibzada Farhan scored 24, Fakhar Zaman 17, and Hussain Talat 32 runs. Mohammad Nawaz played aggressively, remaining not out on 38 runs off 24 balls.
With this win, Pakistan earned two points in the Super Four stage. In their first match, Pakistan had lost to India by six wickets. Today, India and Bangladesh will face each other in the Super Four.
