The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology Nepal has said that the country is currently experiencing the partial influence of a western low-pressure system.
At present, the hilly and mountainous regions of Nepal are generally cloudy, while the remaining areas are experiencing partly cloudy conditions. According to the Weather Forecasting Division of the department, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, along with other hilly and mountainous regions, are likely to remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the areas will see partly cloudy weather.
There is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places in the Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as a few places in the Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces.
Similarly, a few places in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces and one or two places in the hilly areas of other provinces may witness moderate rainfall with thunder, lightning, and hailstorms. A few places in the Terai region may also experience light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, the division said.
According to the forecast, Monday night will see generally cloudy conditions in the hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as the Himalayan regions of other provinces, while the remaining hilly and Terai areas are expected to remain partly cloudy.
There is also a possibility of light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in the Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and at one or two places in other Himalayan areas. Likewise, light rainfall with thunder and lightning may occur at one or two places in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, the division added.
