The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region of the country.
At present, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province are generally cloudy, while the rest of the country is experiencing partly cloudy conditions.
This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country are expected to remain generally cloudy, while other areas will see partly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of light rain accompanied by thunder and snowfall at a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudurpashchim Province. Some places in the Terai region may experience morning fog.
Tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces will remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy conditions. There is a chance of light rain with thunder at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati Province as well as in the Terai region of Koshi Province.
