According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, a partial influence of westerly winds is currently prevailing across the country. As a result, partly cloudy conditions are observed in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while the remaining hilly and Himalayan areas are experiencing mostly clear weather. Some areas of the Tarai, however, are witnessing foggy conditions.
During the afternoon, fog and mist are expected to persist across most parts of the Tarai. While the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces will remain partly cloudy, the rest of the hilly and Himalayan areas are likely to see generally fair weather.
At night as well, fog is expected to continue in many parts of the Tarai. The Department forecasts partly cloudy conditions in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while other hilly and Himalayan regions are expected to remain mostly clear.
The Department has urged the public to take necessary precautions, warning that fog and mist in the Tarai may affect daily life, health, tourism, as well as air and road transportation.
