The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the country is currently under the partial influence of a western low-pressure system.
According to the department, dense cloud cover is expected this afternoon in the high hilly and Himalayan regions, while other hilly areas and the Tarai will experience partly to generally cloudy conditions. There is a possibility of moderate snowfall and rainfall at a few places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions.
Moderate rainfall is likely at some places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light rainfall is also possible at a few places in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Madhes, and Koshi provinces, and at one or two places in the Tarai of Koshi Province.
Tonight, partly cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly and Himalayan regions, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear. Light snowfall and rainfall may occur at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
The department has urged concerned authorities and the general public to remain cautious, as snowfall and rainfall may affect daily life, tourism, health services, as well as air and road transportation.
