A pedestrian has been killed after being hit by a truck in Gaidakot, Nawalpur, along the East–West Highway in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).
According to the District Police Office, the accident occurred at Buddhamarg Chowk in Gaidakot Municipality–5, where a truck bearing registration number Ga 1 Kha 6605 struck 82-year-old Yamnath Paudel.
Paudel, who was critically injured in the collision, was rushed to Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur, where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning while undergoing treatment.
Police have taken the truck and its driver into custody, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
