Prime Minister Sushila Karki has instructed the army to work in close coordination with all security agencies to ensure a smooth and secure conduct of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21.
Addressing a coordination meeting of chiefs at the Army Headquarters on Tuesday, Karki, who also holds the Defense portfolio, emphasized that all actions should be guided by security sensitivity.
“Ensure the elections are conducted safely by analyzing experiences from past elections and considering various aspects of the upcoming polls. Work with all security agencies in full coordination and leave no room for errors,” she said.
The Prime Minister also urged the security forces to remain vigilant so that mistakes or gaps in coordination observed in the past are not repeated. “If there were any lapses or deficiencies in coordination among security mechanisms earlier, ensure that such situations are not repeated and that election security is maintained without any compromise,” Karki added.
