
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has returned home on Friday after attending the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) held in Turkmenistan.
At the Tribhuvan International Airport’s VIP lounge, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badriprasad Pandey welcomed the Prime Minister.
Also present on the occasion were the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, the Chief of the Army Staff, heads of security agencies, senior government officials, and other dignitaries. The Nepal Army presented a guard of honor in tribute to the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Oli had traveled to Turkmenistan at the formal invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The conference took place from August 5 to 8 (Shrawan 20 to 23) in the city of Awaza, Turkmenistan.
As the Chair of the Global Coordination Bureau of the Least Developed Countries, PM Oli addressed the conference. During the event, he co-chaired a high-level roundtable meeting and delivered remarks at various other programs.
