Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that it is the government’s responsibility to make every effort for the immediate release of Nepali youth Bipin Joshi, who was taken hostage by the Hamas group. Writing on Facebook today, PM Oli stated that the government is prioritizing Bipin’s safety and is engaged in all possible initiatives.
He added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through Nepali embassies in the Gulf region, has been holding continuous dialogue to ensure Bipin’s safe and swift release.
Referring to recent meetings in Israel, where Bipin’s mother Padma Joshi and sister Pushpa Joshi urged President Isaac Herzog and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana to help in Bipin’s release, PM Oli reaffirmed that the government stands firmly with Bipin’s family.
PM Oli also recalled his earlier phone conversations regarding Bipin’s case with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 20 and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on March 11, highlighting Nepal’s diplomatic engagement for Middle East peace and the safe return of hostages. He further extended special thanks to Nepali and Israeli citizens, journalists, security personnel, and social activists who are supporting the efforts in Israel.
