Medical entrepreneur and coordinator of the “Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Protection Grand Campaign,” Durga Prasai, has been arrested by police from Bhaktapur.
According to an official at the Kathmandu District Police Range, Prasai was arrested from his residence on Monday.
Police stated that Prasai had been under surveillance for some time and was taken into custody for necessary investigation. Following his arrest, he was brought to Kathmandu after completing required procedures.
However, police have not yet publicly disclosed the specific charges under which he was arrested. Police sources said further investigation is ongoing, and official details will be made public if necessary.
Prasai has previously been involved in controversies due to his statements and activities. Owing to his participation in various public programs, protests, and outspoken remarks, he has repeatedly remained under police monitoring.
Police emphasized that since the investigation process is still underway, additional information will be released only after completing the required legal procedures.
