CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said it is absurd that those who repeatedly dissolved the parliament in the past are now talking about restoring it. He made this remark during a goodwill exchange program organized by the All Nepal Trade Union Federation at the Maoist Centre party office in Paris Danda on Saturday.
Prachanda criticized the faction led by KP Sharma Oli for now advocating the reinstatement of parliament despite having dissolved it earlier. He stated that the upcoming election on Magh 21 is constitutional and a part of the democratic process. He warned that if the election does not take place, the country could face further chaos and instability. He also cautioned against any attempt to disrupt the announced elections.
He emphasized the need for national consensus to successfully conduct the elections and expressed confidence that the government is serious about holding them. Referring to the constitution, he said it has “slightly slipped off track” and that the only way to bring it back on course is through constitutional amendment. He also said that the leftist parties within the Socialist Front would soon announce a formal unification.
Prachanda described Generation Z as the successors of the revolutionary movement and said it is unacceptable to make insulting comments against them. He further added that in any revolution, it is essential to distinguish between allies and adversaries, warning that failure to do so would prevent the institutionalization of achievements gained through past sacrifices. He urged everyone to clearly identify their allies in the current political struggle.
